IMFD’s FOR FUNERAL DIRECTORS:
Ultimately to provide and serve the funeral service but also benefit the religious and communal needs of the client and their family, to modernise the current practices allowing the organisation to embrace change which would benefit the Funeral Service and the wider community as a whole, to promote best practice and protect the interests of our members and their local Clients and respective communities.
To represent the views of our members at all levels promoting knowledge and mutual understanding between our members providing a closer network and co-operation between the Funeral Service Providers, those involved with bereavement and Faith Communities in general providing practical advice and initiatives on important community issues.

IMFD’s FOR FUNERAL Associates:
Those who are involved in bereavement but are not Funeral Directors can benefit from being a part of the IMFD membership. We have associate memberships for Funeral Plan providers (Death Committees). To provide them with up to date industry information and direction.
IMFD’s FOR FUNERAL Director CLIENTS:
Bereaved families can rest assured that our members will have a dignified and professional approach, underpinned by our core values and Code of Practice
The IMFD’s independent Code of Practice includes many safeguards for Funeral Service providers and their clients, which all members have to meet and abide by our aim is to ensure that our membership is recognised as a badge of quality, which is a source of pride to our members and reassurance to their clients.

We also have Associate members set up in which Muslim Funeral Plan providers (Death Committees”) can get help and advice for the products or services they provide.
The 2020 Pandemic has been a testing time for everyone and especially for funeral directors. Being commonly affiliated with charities and often run by volunteers, Muslim Funeral and Bereavement Services in the UK are sometimes confounded as to what the latest rules and governance is, in regards to professional funeral standards. There was also collective recognition for the need to enhance and promote professional funeral standards within the industry. With this in mind we decided to setup the IMFD.

The IMFD will support & advise you and of the CMA’s recommendations and the expectations of the Ministry of Justice, which will now oversee regulation of Funeral firms like yours Regular Meetings to discuss collaboration, updates, issues and initiatives and member centric topics/issues Being part of a greater team, being able to achieve by uniting together and collaboration Upon being accepted the Funeral Service Provider will be issued with a membership Certificate You will also be a part of the official IMFD Funeral Directors Directory – which will allow members of the public to search IMFD accredited members via our website. Only accredited members who conform to the IMFD code of conduct and the governance will be listed on the directory. This will in-sha-Allah be recognized as a badge of quality, which is a source of pride and reassurance to our members and the public as a whole.
